Terms & Conditions – The Basics

Terms and Conditions are the agreement between you and the user that sets the legal boundaries of the service you provide. T&C can be used as a legal document to establish the rights and obligations of both you and the user in regards to using the site.

T&C can cover many areas, including intellectual property rights, scope of service, and how you want users to behave.

What to Include in T&C

Generally speaking, T&C for an e-commerce site often addresses: payment methods accepted and payment terms; product warranties or lack thereof; intellectual property and copyright protections; the right to suspend or cancel user accounts; limitations of liability; and how disputes will be resolved.
